are they easy to use? to they work good? are they worth the money? i just want to hear your opinions about them....
I have one and it cured my green water. It will really clean your tank, but it will also filter out beneficial bacteria out of your water column. Some claim that if you use it continuously or just plain too much, your fishs' immune systems will weaken through lack of exersize. If you get one, use it sparingly.
I have one now for over 10 years, a Vortex XL, I bought because I would always get green pea soup water. This filter is a pain to get it set up and get primed but the before and after results are amazing. Mine filters down to 1 micron which will remove some parasites, the pea soup is gone in 15 minutes, I once bought the gravel cleaner from this lfs and the packaging looked a little beat up :rolleyes:, after using it I knew why, I brought it back that day and asked for my money back, if you buy one of these filters do not buy the gravel attachment. Once this one dies I will get another one maybe a System 1. Just my 2 cents worth.
