Hello all plant experts...
I have a question for everyone, but first let me say that I am not new to fish-keeping. I used to have a 60 gallon which was a non real planted convict tank. I do not have that tank anymore due to relocating and not enough room. Now on to my question:

I have a 20L sitting empty, at the moment. Measurements: 30"L, 12" W, 12"H...

It has a split glass cover with at 4.5" wide canopy sitting on the back part of the glass cover.
I was thinking of buying the 1x55 watt setup from ahsupply.com, but not sure if I could build a canopy for it thats 4.5" in width. Please give me some suggestions...
Also, I will be adding a diy CO2 setup...any help and/or suggestions on that would be nice.
And, Suggestions on plants and fish would be nice also
:) :)
Thanks...

With the amount of light you're talking about adding to a 20L you'll probably need CO2 of some sort. Load that puppy up with as many plants as you can get in there.
Use our Search button for suggestions on DIY CO2 and fertilization and you're all set.

May I ask everyone for suggestions on fish? I really have no idea what I would like to keep in this tank...

a nice pair of angels maybe? tetras, cories, danios, livebearers...go with the fish you'e always wanted. of course, ive named some of the more common, ever considered having it as a brakish set up? or keeping african cichlids?

You could start with a pair of Rams. 2 Bolivian Rams were the first addition to my planted tank and I really like them.
