I have 5 neons, 2 dwark gouramis, and 3 red minor tetras, and 3 mollies
in 1 55 gal tank i was curious if i could angels and would there be any aggression problems.
if angelfish and neons dont mix what could i get as an alternative to angels

Angels and neons most likely will not mix, as the angels will probably eat the neons. Since you already have dwarf gouramis as centerpiece fish I think you should bump up the numbers on the neons and red minor tetras, then get some bottom feeders.

the neons and angels can't mix and I'm no expert on angels but I think the D.Gouramis might nip at the tails. Like I said I don't know that much about angels so don't count on my advice.

the angels wont work with what you have.
the neons will eventually be eaten
the searpes will nip the fins, and the mollies could get nippy around the angels too.
the dwarf gouramis could fight with one another BTW

agree with what has been mentioned..unless you get a pair of angels..then a bunch of fish may have bruises on their sides :joke:
you could go with rams, apistos or small cichlids..I'd say keyholes but keyholes when they get big(relative) may hunt the neons..keyholes have been known to pack hunt at night.

While there are always examples to the contrary....but in many cases Angels do best with nothing other than Angels in their tanks. Either the Angels or the other fish won't be happy in mixed company.
So if you want Angels, then just make a tank for them only. Otherwise forget the Angels and look for better community fish.

angels do fine in a tank with other fish.
in most cases, they will be fine (with a breeding pair as the exemption).
even angels that have been stunted by tiny tanks do fine with other fish.
larger tetras, corydoras, and some gouramis and platies make great communtiy tankmates with angels, and sevurum, blood parrots, and rams make good cichlid tankmates.
the fact is that angels make great community fish if you out them with the right fish. obviously, they wont be goot tankmates with barbs, dainos, or larger livebearers, or tiny tetras.

I had a dwarf gourami with angels with no notice taken on either side. Same for mollies.
I wouldn't get angels though if having your neons wind up as lunch would bother you. I had one of my angels eat a couple otto's that were so big it took him a day to swallow them (each). A neon is a much easier treat.

that's a fact..angels eat oto's..I do not place otos in a tank with adult angels

It's got to be a pair of blue rams. I know a load of people who have sucsessfully kept rams and neons together. They also look stunning.
