I was just wondering if my 10 gallon can handle any more small fish? I was thinking of getting a couple of cherry barbs or danio's (did I spell that right?), but want to make sure I don't overstock.

TIA!

IMO, I'd say go for it. The tetras you have are a small bioload. Only a few though. On the other hand, you could also dispute to say no, because they are schoolers, so they would need many more of their kind. It's your call.

I would get at least 2 more neons or more glofish, and take back the other. Those fish need groups of 6 or more. But if you have 6 of each they will be pretty darn crowded.

Hi,

You didn't spell that right, but very close, it's Danios.

I think you could get two African Dwarf Frogs or three Ghost or Red Cherry Shrimp.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but maybe you could get three Pygmy Cories instead of the frogs or the shrimp I mentioned.

Yea you could do a few cories but having 12 mid/surface dwellers is too much for such a small tank. (assuming of course you beefed up both schools)

So like I said choose either the tetras or glofish and take back the other, then you could get a few cories. BTW glofish are danios so you could do 3 glofish and 3 danios for some variety.

fballguy- I'm a little confused. Are you saying to take back either the neons or the glofish and add more of the ones I keep?

The glofish are schooling together great, but the neons only school after eating and then seperate.

i would also take back or exchange for either more neons or glofish. beef up your choice to a school of 7 or 8. then pick up 2-3 ottos and some ghost/amano shrimp for variety.

But I already love the ones I have, I don't want to take them back  .

Well then that's an excellent reason for a new tank! I did basically the same thing when I started keeping fish. I had 2 tanks with a week of getting into the hobby.
