Hello,

About three years ago I purchased a large size of Flakefood and Dried bloodworms. Shortly after, I stopped my aquarium hobby and put the food into storage.

I am back in this hobby now and I was wondering if I could feed my fish the food? I checked and there were no expiry dates.

3-4 year old flake
3-4 year old bloodworms

Thanks!

From what I understand the vitamins in most dried foods are lost after a few months once the seal is broken. Since most flake foods are pretty inexpensive it is probably best of buying some new stuff

I would not use the flake food. But i remember reading that freeze dried fods can last a really long time as long as they don't get wet and are kept in a sealed container. Anyone know if this is true?

Buy fresh stuff. Feed the old flakes to your white worms.

I'm going to throw out the food now. He didn't want to touch the flake food!

How long can bettas live without food? I don't have any today and I don't know when the last time they fed him at the lfs.

Bettas can seem to last a long time...after moving mine to a new tank think he went ona 4 or 5 day fast while he was getting used to things...and he was still swimming around like normal
