The cysts are very tiny, but not as numerous as the pictures I have seen of velvet. It looks like it's right in between the two. On my brochis and my black neons. I had been treating for ich the past week but now I'm not sure what to do. And pictures are difficult to capture due to my camera needing batteries.

I have upped the temp to 86 and I am using Rid-Ich. This worked for me before very quickly and safely. But if it's not ich, then...hmmm. What to do?

Shall I switch to, or include salt? The plants I have are amazon swords, pygmy chain swords and corkscrew vals.

Any ideas?

sounds like you can use rid ick to treat velevet too(dinoflagellate)

how long are you treating for ick.

also some meds use malachite green with formalin(proven effective in both ick and velvet)

I think the key is to treat longer. generally for ick I treat for 2 weeks. i read it is suggested to treat velevet even longer.
