I have lots of ALage in my tank and a convict chiclid, it is a 72 gal. What fish would work well to clean up all the alagae and not conflcit with them convict?

if all you have is one lone convict, you can probably fit a handful of different plecos in your tank (yay!!!). however - some ways to get rid of algae other than buying another fish include: leaving the light on for less time, feeding less, and doing more water changes to remove things like nitrates (which is food for algae). while fish like plecos will usually consume algae, they need other kinds of food (wafers, fresh veggies, proteins, driftwood) and most produce so much waste that cleaning the algae off takes the same time as cleaning the gravel. if you want a pleco, get one. if you want an algae-free tank with less cleaning, do all the other things i listed.

I agree.....look for the reason behind the alge and eliminate it. Rather than solving by putting more fish in your tank. While your tank could handle a pleco or two....do you really need them? Solve the cause....not the effect.
