Well I went to feed my ADFs and I saw one ling on he edge of my filter. I have a Tetra In-tank filter and it doesn't ave a top cover. It looked like it was about to go in. Then I noticed my other ADF was missing. I thought he was just hiding like normal but after about 15 mins of searching I decided to look in the filter. I lifted one of the filter cartiges up and out shot the ADF. So is there a reason they would be going in the filter??

the water is theoretically cleaner in there (having just been "processed") and it circulates more. It may also be warmer because of the filter's motor. Is the tank cycled and warm enough? Is there enough cover for theh frogs to hide in? A lack of any of those may force them to seek refuge in the filter.

off topic, but my big bristlenose male traveled into my whisper in-tank filter once - i don't know if ADF's will munch on algae at all, or eat plant matter of any kind, but that's why my pleco went in there. . big tufts of delicious algae for him to eat. also a nice, dark hiding place that nobody else will (theoretically) seek out.
