...I'd rather be safe than sorry. i really apprechiate all the help. :bowing:

1)im going with another emperor 400...to make 3. in the deal im also getting a fluval 403 and 404. im sure i dont need both...so from exp. can anyone tell me which one is better and easier to maintain? they are coming with the deal...and i heard they were good for extra water movement, so what do you think?
2)im going with pool filter sand like suggested. where can you get it at?
3)what is the best way to clean sand?
4)which model whisper air pump would be best for like 2 air stones?
5)can someone point me to info about plecos and the diff types. i want some but wanna make sure i dont get ones that get huge, and some that arent relaly hard to care for.
6)this is my current fish set up i think thanks to jm1212
(125 gallon)

6 silver hatchetfish
6 guppies
6 angelfish, maybe a few more
12 tetras (probably skirts)
6 loaches, probably clown
6 peppered, bronze, three line, or schwartz's corydoras
4 plecos (please reccomend some) lfs has a snowball that i like. and i know not to get commons, they get huge. they also have a green one with a large top fin and like yellow spots, i cant remember the name.
i also might get a few dojo loaches if i can find them.

thanks everyone.

I don't think you will need airstones if you have three HOB filters. I would only put 1-2 plecos in there. Also, realize that the clown loaches will get rather big (although slowly). The loaches will also compete with the cories on the bottom so you will have to be careful there as well. All in all I like your tank; I would suggest this:
12 hatchets
5-6 angels
12-15 larger tetras
8 cories
1-2 plecos
Others may have other suggestions as well.

why only 1-2 plecos? and is the cory>loach thing a prefernce or what? i love loaches, they look so cool i think. they can get up to 6" but it takes for ever. they wont get along with a school of corys? thanks for you input. anyone else able to answer the other questions? those are the last few i have. thanks.

Clown loaches get bigger then 6 inches, and they get quite fat as well. They buldoze corys, so you could get some brochis splendens or some such.

ok so i guess loaches and corys dont get along. ill have to decide. i like the loaches though as they are more colorful.

anyone else help with the other questions?

3) Lowes, Home Depot, Pool Supply Store?

4) I cut slots in the end of a gravel vac tube, taking out most of the material, leaving short tines like on a salad fork. I helps stir the surface of the sand as I vac.
