If the tiger barbs are in a school, will they nip at gourami's fins? Gouramis are slow but they don't have long fins. If the barbs are in a school will they attack the gouramis or will they be too occupied in chasing each other?

Gouramis have very long threadlike pelvic fins, which are a prime target to nipping. The rest of the fins aren't exactly small either. Besides, sometimes with tiger barbs they will nip at a fish even if it doesn't have long fins. One of my friends had some of them nipping at an albino corydoras. I've read more than once that tiger barbs are really best kept in a species tank.

I have told you three times that this will not work. I know from personal experience that tiger barbs and gouramis will not work together.

I have kept cherry barbs with a pearl gourami...I didnt have any problems, but I think you would if you were to get tiger barbs.
what kind of gourami do you want?

you'd probably be fine...go with cherry barbs,or long-finned rosy barbs..they sem to be the least agressive IME.
the pic with the two barbs are a male and female cherry barb, the male is the bright red.
the other pic is of a long finned rosy barb.

Basicly i would just avoid tigers unless they are in the tank by themselves or if its in a really big tank.
