What kind of fish, if any, can I keep in an Arowana tank, that wont get eaten as adults, but will breed alot? I want the babies to supplement the diet.
thanks,
georgio

Setup a separate tank for the feeders, especially if you're just looking for a supplement. Not only is this easier, but it's safer. There won't be anything that will reproduce fast enough, grow big enough, not attack the aro, that will not be seen as a food source as adult fish. There are many fish that might meet one of the criteria, but not all of them. If you have the feeders separate, it's easier to medicate them, gut load them, and in general maintain a healthy environment for the aro. If the feeders are in the same tank, the aro may get used to them and refuse other foods--not a good idea.

I disagree with oriongirl, a few years ago, I went to an aquarium and saw a tank holding 3 full grown baracuda. The bottom of the tank was covered in fake branchy coral with guppies swimming in it. The baracuda couldnt get through the coral down to the guppies but were able to eat them whenever some would leave the shelter. I think it might work but only in a very large tank (the one I saw was at least 2000 gallons) and starting with a large healthy breeding colony of guppies to start.
