Hi,
I have had my fish for almost a year now.
I have
2 Dwarf gourami (1 flame, 1 blue)
2 zebra danio
2 clown loaches (my favourite)
4 orange platy
I want something that is a feature in the tank, my fiances liked the look of anglefish but i am not sure if they are suitable with the fish i already have, have heard mixed reports about their aggressiveness/size.
also thinking of getting some more zebra danio as they are schooling fish.
what do you think?

what size tank? seems like anglefish would work tehre but idk depending on size. you could get a school of tetras. like a dozen dimond or bleeding hearts.
A lace/pearl gourami or two. Not overly active but would fit in with the others. And they are interesting, curious guys with a bit of a flash of colour. But as said, need the tank size.
I've had angels in as well and it worked okay, but that was a ~200lt tank. I was thinking of getting another couple for the community tank, but the LFS wants too much. Gourami are cheaper at the moment.
A few neons for a flash of blue might be nice too...

What size tank? I think you mentioned you have clown loaches. In my experience, clown loaches and angels are not a good mix. There are a lot of choices out there though. What other fish do you like?

id say the flame gourami is a nice centerpeice fish... tank size?
cory cats! =] they arent the very prettiest fish, but very active and peaceful. i enjoy watching them sticking their face into every hole in the gravel looking for food.

White Cloud or Golden Cloud Minnows. I find them too active for me, but you might like them. You might enjoy just observing some at a LFS.

without tank size there arent any really good suggestions to a centerpeice fish other than the dwarf gouramis that you already have

Hi,
Whats the size of your tank??? Because Clown Loaches need big tanks. Like BrkD said, Cories would be a great choice. But sometimes Clowns can be too aggressive for Cories.

Once your tank size is listed, and you have enough room....I would recommend a few Rainbow fish. There are several different types & colors and they are very friendly fish for a community tank.
But they can get 4-5 inches....so until we know your tank size and available room, I hold my suggestion.

Ok then. Given the size of your tank (~18 gallon) you're probably at your stocking limit as it is.
My suggestion would be to take your clown loaches back to the pet shop, I hate to say it since you said they're your favourites, but they eventually grow to up to one foot long. So unless you have plans to get a bigger tank in the future, they would probably be better off going back to the shop or they will end up being stunted. Clown loaches are also much better off in a group of five or so.
That being said, if you were to take back the clown loaches, you could probably add to your school of danios or add a few corys to replace the clown loaches on the bottom.

Hi,
So, probably the best thing to do is to return the Clown Loaches because they get too big for a 70lt. Angelfish get a little to big for a 70lts aswell, so I wouldn't get one. You could get a shoal of 6 Cories. Some of the best species of Cories (in my opinion) are: Three-Striped Cories (Corydoras trilineatus), Bronze Cories (Corydoras aeneus), Panda Cories (Corydoras panda), and Peppered Cories (Corydoras paleatus). It would also be great if you could get a few more Zebra Danios, because they really like being in shoals.
Happy fish keeping and good luck!
