I have a school of neon, black, and rummy nose tetras in my 52 gallon tank. Recently two of the black neons and one of the rummy nose have broken away from their school and now actively school with the neons. Anyone ever heard of this. Looks pretty cool but wierd.
Thanks.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm Interesting wonder what that cross would produce LOL.

Maybe the neons are just more fun. LOL I've heard of this before, so I'm gonna say it's normal behavior. I had 4 Serpae tetras, 3 of them schooled nicely and one was an outcast. It eventually got beaten to death by a Krib.

Sometimes that happens with tetras. They pick one in the group and declare it an outcast. Eventually it ends up dead either from stress or the rest of them beating it to death. I think it is pretty common behavior for tetras.

This actually happens with almost all schooling fish. I have a gold barb in my asian tank whose barb friends have all died off over time, and now he schools with the harlequin razzies.
