I've finally got my new tank setup, sitting in my office! yes.. productivity has suffered. :)
Still deciding on fish and live or fake plants. I've been reading about jump starting the cylcling process with a bunch of plants, and slowly adding fish, a little spendy though.
I also thought I would share in the convict love with my new bab'ies. Is that red algae they love so much harmful?

My fish choices, new 240gal, have been narrowed (thanks, in part, to those who suggested in my earlier thread)to:

1.
Bolivian Rams
Dwarf Pike cichlids
severums
firemouths
?

2.
German Blue/Gold Rams
Cockatoo
gold nugget
hatchett
corys
tetras

3. Fronts
shellies

I honestly feel a little crazy b/c I convince myself of somthing different every night!

Now I see why they call them convict!!! Gorgeous!

dont put rams and corydoras with convicts- they are to agressive for them. severums will be able to hold their ground, but to be safe make sure the sevs are bigger than the convicts.

other than that, your tank looks good

I've actually got the pair of convicts with my severum in a 55, not planning to put them in the new tank, sev is bigger. Wow the agression is much more than I expected! I'm giving it another week until I transfer fry to my 29, unless things calm. should I just move the severum there instead?
