Ok guys...need some input. I know aquatic plants and I know human medicine.....but I am thinking my Pleco is sick...His poop always looked like dark grey rubber washers in long strands...you know, normal. As of late, his poop is pure white. I am seeing white poop on some of my other fish too. I think it may be a parasite because the color is not normal. Is it? If so how do I treat it...and also where do you suppose it came from??? Please help~

Jungle labs, tank buddies makes a really good product called Parasite Clear. Treats internal and external parasites, and it kinda sounds like you might have some. Follow the dosage suggestions on the package, but I suggest dissolving the tablets in a glass of tank water rather than just throwing them into the tank.
Takes a few days to work, but does work. As for where they came from, they often reside in your fish's gut, in small amounts. Some small change in environment or fish health can cause parasites to suddenly have an outbreak, and even spread to other fish.
The good news is, you still have time to treat, and tank buddies parasite clear is a very easy to find product. Even most wal marts carry this stuff.

Let us know how treatment goes. Too often, the problem gets resolved and we , the public never knows what happened, and what worked best.
