Howdy. I am finally planning to set up a Q-tank (now that all of my fish are in my tank of course). This is something I should've done long ago I know I know. Anyways, I was wondering *ahem*
1) What is a good minimum size? Is a 10 enough?
2) Do I have to worry about this thing cycling?
3) I've heard wait anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks...what's preferred?
4) Should I bother with inverts too and if not is it better to lower the salinity?
Thanks folks!

It is my understanding that you do need to worry about it cycling. Since it will not always be occupied, I would say to fishless cycle it to keep up the biofilter while you are not using it. Otherwise, you will be putting an already sick fish (or a newly caught and shipped fish) into a bad water environment, and that's not good for anyone.

Size is going to depend on what you want to put in it. If you have a 12 - 15 inch fish then a 10 gallon won't really cut it. You will want it to be a comfy temperary home
