Yeah, after a couple decades my plastic plants started turning white/smoky coloured. That's when I decided to go live. The gravel looks clean in that tank, why is the plant black? Do silk plants do that? I have silks in my betta tank but they are only a few months old. They are starting to look shredded on some edges.

I HAD a tank full of silk plants. A few turned black withing 6 months. The rest were o.k. as long as the leaves were small and something would keep the algae off or if I would rinse them in tap water they stayed looking better for longer. Eventually I gave up on them and went for the real thing.

Fake plants are so much work. It takes a real "silk thumb" to keep them looking at their best...
