anyone with red devil expereance please

I saw a about 12 inch red devil at my lfs and I fell in love with it! what a great fish! do you think it will get along with my aggresive 4inch oscar and my 6 inch lima shovel nose? :rolleyes: or will it eat them like simple feeders :Angel: that would not be good. What do you guys think of the red d ?

red devils are very agressive cichlids, he might be ok with the cat, but the oscar, being small..might be in trouble with RD that size

Last RD I knew was in a 90g corner and was waaay too aggressive for any room mates. He was big enough that you wouldn't really want to add anything other than 1 big pleco or synodontis anyway (but this one lived alone).

i have a 135 gallon tank with 2 red devils/midas and there both about 8- 10 inches there very aggresive towards my other cihlids but all my other fish ar about 7- 10 iches so they can defend themselfs, it all depends on the kind you get because i seen some mellow ones which can be with other cichlids but i seen sum that are only kept allone my opinion is that i dont recomend you put it with you oscar its to small for it i have an oscar with mine and my oscar is aggressive also but he gets over powered by either one

If you feed cichlids live fish they would come really aggressive after feeding them live feeders.

never heard that one before, i feed mine live fish..never seen any aggression afterwards
