my girlfriend was getting her nails done at one of those places where no one speaks an ounce of English. i was so totally bored that i started looking around at all the vietnamese ornaments and paintings which were pretty cool, when i notice an aquarium sitting over in the corner empty. it's between 55g-65g (not sure yet) and had the works: stand, canopy, lights, heater, and a canister filter (also not sure what kind yet). i sat about how cool i thought it would be in my house and was wondering why they didn't have anything in it. my girlfriend gets "Girlfriend of the Year Award" for this one. she asked the lady doing her nails what they were going to do with the tank (it took them 10 minutes to converse that much), and the girl managed to get out a "it my, i no want no more, i give to boss, now he no want no more..........you want, you can have!" my freaking eyes about exploded and my girlfriend knew it. i quickly responded but was a bit concerned. i asked her numerous time why she didn't want it and why she didn't just put fish in it. i mean, i wanted the tank bad, but i already have 4 up and running and i want everyone to enjoy this hobby as much as i do. she gave me a bunch of crap about how it was too much work and said that she'd rather someone have it that really wanted to take care of the "stupid thing". anyway, i'll be picking it up this afternoon, and it will be the future home for my gars. they are tired of being in the 30g. i'm obviously a bit worried because it is a used tank, so i will fill test and clean it up before i decide to cycle and the rest of the good stuff. are there any other concerns i should have or do any of you have any bad/good experiences with "free" tanks that i should know about. please give input, and i'm sorry this is so long, i am just so excited.......and so are my gars. lol.
