I just read an article about how it's possible but it's takes a lot of adjusting to get the balance right. Unless anyone can talk me out of it I might do this for my 90 gallon.

Thats exactly what I have, Ive seen many. My LFS owner gave me the idea, he has a 120 mixed african tank. The keys are: all males, overstock slightly, and overfilter as much as possible.
