Does anybody know anything about 5 gallon tanks? I am going to ask my hubby for one for Christmas. It is 5 gallon or 5.5 gallon (I forget which). It comes with a lid and a light. I think it’s 30$. Does that sound right? I was thinking about getting a white betta and maybe some ghost shrimps and live plants. Is this ok? Could I add some small snails too? Do live plants do well in small tanks or do they need larger ones? Thanks everybody!

Oh Also, do you all know about the dwarf platies? I am thinkign about buying some for my 20gal.

Everything sounds good. Make sure the betta doesn't eat the ghost shrimp and for live plants, easytocare for plants will do fine in a 5g. Also i need to know whats in the 20g to know if the platies will work.

in the 20 gal is 5 cories and 3 guppies plus their fry.

the dwarf platies, ive never kept them before. they're smaller than the guppies!

you'll be fine with adding a few platies

I'm giving the same model to my mum I think. Your betta should love it, 5.5 is a decent amount of space for them.

thanks. i cant find much info o nline about the dwarf platies. are they basically the same as the regular 2-3" platies?

yeah but smaller :joke:

Dwarf platies

I've had a few of the dwarf platies and I love them! I've had mine for about 4 months now and they're still under an inch. Very active and colorful!

Then I guess that explains why mine loves my old 20g. He shares it with 10 neon tetras and everybody seems to have plenty of space.
