Over the last couple of weeks I've been noticing egg clusters appearing on some of my plants. There are two possible culprits; pond snails or my peppered cory. The eggs are small and white and appear in a blob of nearly see-through jelly.

So far none have hatched as far as I can tell. Is it possible that my cory is laying eggs, even though there is no male cory to fertilise them? Or is it pond snails? The egg blobs themselves are about the same size as my pond snails, and since they haven't developed at all, I'm leaning towards the cory being the culprit. I will definitely have to get it some friends soon ;).

What do you guys think? Cory or snails?

Snails no doubt. The jelly makes it certain. I was once deceived too - didn't even know I had snails capable of laying eggs.

Oh well, I kind of expected that would be the case. I was just trying to be optimistic :). I'll probably try to get rid of them next WC.

mine tend to lay multiple clusters on my crypt's leaves, which break 1/2 the time I try to get 'em off :(
