What would be a a general price for a used 110 gal tank with stand and canopy?

Wide open. How old on all parts? Condition/Quality? How bad they want rid of it. Glass/Acryllic?

My LFS is selling it. They are asking $500, which I thought was crazy. The tank & canopy are in good condition. The stand has some nicks-n-dings but overall good (just minor cosmetic). The LFS says that he sold it to some guy who had it for a year then moved so he had to get rid of it.

100-300 dollars is more reasonable?

A brand new glass 110 should only set you back 200-250, max, plus stand. If they want more than $300, I think they are looking for the bucks.

Is there anyplace on the internet to purchase larger size tanks? Some place that will ship for a decent price? I just don't have anywhere in town to get a tank. I have been looking at the classifieds for some time and have not seen anything. The LFS that has this "USED" 500 dollar tank is a 90 minute drive from my home & obviously not an economical choice.

In that case, shipping can add a lot, especially on a large glass tank. Acryllic can be cheaper to have shipped. Do you have a local store that can order one for you? Maybe make them a counter offer? They throw in a canister filter or lights and lid?
