well I have scratched the live plant part of my aquarium as I just wasn't getting the results I was looking for so I am going back to a non planted tank. I have cleaned and changed water out a couple of times after removing the plants, and then I put my old hood back on. Problem is, going form 160 watt shop lights to 30 watts of hood lighting leaves the tank looking awfully dim. Can I use 1 of my 80 watt shop lights on my 55 or will this give me huge algae issues?
