Thinking of get a canaster filter!

If i get a canaster filter would it be worth the trouble or should i just stick with my penguin 200. This by the way is for a 29gal tank. Anyway i am starting to get use to the trickling of the bio wheel, i have had it for about a year now. I have heard the canasters are quiet though, so i don't know what to do. If i were to get it then what would i do with my penguin filter, i don't want to get rid of it or sell it for less then i bought it. Plus if i don't have to buy it then i really would rather not. When i mean i like it quiet, i can hear the noise of what some call a slight humming as defening. Is a canaster worth it? Do they last? Are they reliable? Do they leak in the long run?

Also i was considering getting a bubble wall and was wondering if anyone has done it. If it looks nice! Also i have plants, so i don't know if the surface agetation would be a prob if so then i will hold off on the thought.
 
If you think a low humming is loud, a bubble wall would be a deafening roar for you. ;) They aren't great for planted tanks anyway.

I recently switched to Eheim canister filters and I love them. They are no hassle at all and are dead silent. I don't know they are running unless I stick my ear on the top of it. However, I can now hear the low hum of my fluorescent lights and that took a couple days of getting used to.
 
i think a cannister filter is overkill for a lightly stocked 29 gallon tank. a 'quiet' filter is an Aquaclear, sized appropriately for your tank.
 
Canister filters are great. I would recommend them to anyone. However, you already have a great filter. You would not need two filters in your sized aquarium and a canister would be a large initial cost. If I were you I would keep your filter.
