odno ballast failures

I've been doing 4x ODNO with REL-4P32-SC's and they keep failing after a certain amount of usage and stop working, I had one on my plant tank and my other tank and they've both failed within say 2 months of off and on usage. Does anyone have any ideas why they keep failing?

Too much heat? That's just a wild guess. The most I've ODNO'd is 2X (i.e. run 2 bulbs with a 4bulb ballast, 1 bulb with 2bulb ballast, 1 20W bulb with 1 40W ballast). 4X just seems excessive to me. Probably doesn't help you much, sorry.

Could you explain how your setup is wired? Other than a wiring issue or really bad luck, I wouldnt have any other idea why your experiencing failure like that. I have been running now about 8 months with 2x odno using sylvania quicktronics w/o any problems.
