I'm looking for a bigger tank but can't find one cheap over 100 gallons. I've found plans to build one and I think I could do it. Is it better to build or buy tanks and where do you find cheap tanks and other aquarium stuff(filters, gravel, lights, hoods, etc.)?
 
Don't know if you'll find it worth the 2 hour drive, or if you consider this cheap, but jan's tropical fish store in romulus had (and likely has or will have) a brand new 180g for sale for $360 last time I was in there. Everything else I looked at was also pretty cheapily priced.

Try craigslist.com. A lot of times you can get great deals used for that price.

110 gallon at a good price, but you have to drive to 48045
