I've got some nice suggestions here before, so I'm coming back.

Well, it seems that my Agassizi male has a parasite infection. Either that or he was violently raped anally. I hope he wasn't... I was able to stop 2 previous infections with Metronidazole baths, but this time, it's worse. And getting worse. The water is fine and the rest of the 15 gal tank gang (2 females, Harlequin rasboras, a snail and Yamato shrimps) are doing OK. Had him for 3 months.

If he does not make it, I'll change the 2 females for something a little less fragile, but still interesting. I'd like not to have to change the mopani wood in there but I'd get rid of these claypots with pleasure...

I like my tanks a little original. I've got a dwarf puffer trio set up in a 10 gal (with ottos and shrimps) and a recent paradise fish couple set up in a 20 gal (with WC minnows). Both these tanks are doing great. I really like the way the Paradise fish tank looks with the big and smaller fish. I'd be looking for something with some kind of a twist, peacefull medium-small in size...

Again, keeping in mind I'd like something less fragile than Agassizis, what would best fill the blank?

I've got a ___________________ set up in a 15gal (with 6 H rasboras, a snail and 4 Y shrimps).

Thanks in advance.

A pair of rams or a gourami. It's all about personal opinion really.

Thanks.

I've got a Labyrinth set up, so something different would be nice. Killes are a nice suggestion, but they seem to need a lot as far as breeding goes.

I guess if I want to see some kind of egg laying in the tank and parental behaviour, I'll have to stay with cichlids. Some kind of a mini convict would be my choice, since it is for a 15 gal. Would a Bolivian ram couple would be the closest thing to that?

Yes, more harlequins would look nice in there, I really like these little guys. I was thinking at adding at least two depending on what will be the bigger guys.

Searching for small species, I did find some that seem pretty hardy on top of bolivian rams: pelvicachromis taeniatus, a. borelli or macmasteri...

A mix of honey gouramis and betta picta could also be interesting, if I could find the pictas...

I'll go see the guy at my pet store to see what he could get.
