Here is a pic of my new male VT. I named him Wily Mo after the baseball player who left the reds last year  . I saw him at a pet store a few months back and fell in love with him, there was just something about him. So I went back for the first time since then and the poor guy was still there. I can't believe he wasn't sold because he was the most beautiful VT I've ever seen. Anyway he's in a 10 gallon by himself and allready comes up to me when I come into the room. (I really like this pic)

I'm going to try breeding him with the red girl in this pic. Her name is (Sing Li)
(Sorry about the quality)

And I know about breeding bettas and all the work involved, but I'm prepared for that.

And I know I have wierd, random names for my fish. For some reason I only name my bettas...

He really is a pretty guy! I am so glad to hear you rescued him from the pet store cup! He must really LOVE his new 10 gallon "mansion!"

If you want to talk about breeding bettas anytime, drop me a line. I have about 50 fry doing really really well right now!

Thanks! If I need some help I'll be sure to contact you. Of course they won't be nearly as pretty as yours but it's all just training right now. Eventually I'll move on to something more advanced like halfmoons.

He's so nice, he's got a few guppy fry with him and they swim right up to him and he does nothing. Hopefully Sing Li dosen't kick the crap out him.

I think there are some veil tails that are absolutely gorgeous, so I wouldn't say your babies wouldn't be as pretty as mine. This is my first spawn, and I don't plan to breed anymore. I am having a hard time parting with my babies as it is - I want to keep them all, but I know it's not realistic since I'll probably have around 25 males.

I'm surprised your new boy isn't EATING the guppy fry! He must be pretty docile! I also hope Sing Li doesn't have him for dinner! LOL

It's really strange. Guppy fry are Sing Li's favorite food  . I'm wondering if he's just getting used to his surrounds. He's still getting used to swimming, he spends alot of time lying on a flat rock.

Fish looks great :) By the way, what's that stem plant behind Wily Mo? Is that like hydrilla or something? And good luck on the breeding thing.
