I have just found out I will be getting a 35 gallon and not a 15 gallon as I thought I was getting. So I need a bit of help getting some fish together for it so I can research them.

I prefer smaller fish that are quite colourful. So If anyone can suggest a stocking list of what fish to put in and how many of each would be great.

thanks.

Hi Gurglar,
I also have a 35 gal and am not finished stocking it. You can see what fish I have at the moment. The guppy is the prettiest and most active fish that I have. The marbled hatchetfish stay at the top most of the time, as is expected, but they also swim mid and lower levels as times. They make interesting additions due to their shape and coloring.

Is it a tall or wide tank?

A dwarf gourmai is beautiful with its colors. Maybe you can consider it a centerpiece fish and then stock the rest of the fish around this one fish. A nice school of tetras would be pretty with it. Maybe lemon tetras or even rummynoses.

Remember to cycle your tank beforehand. If you can. It can take as little as 2 weeks to cycle.

As for stock suggestions, my stats below

in your sig it says that you already have a dwarf gourami, so you shouldnt get another male; they will fight.
to go along with the gourami, get some schoolers like neons or cardinals, and if you want those get two schools of 10 or one big school of 20.
OR
if you want rummynoses, lemons, and searpe tetras , they are in between the small and the "big" tetras, so if you wnt some of them, get a big school of 18
OR
if you want bigger tetras like red eyes, black/white skirts, or diamonds, stick to one school of 14

for around the bottom of the tank, get a group of 5 or so panda, peppered, or schwartz's corydoras

for algea eating, get a snail

Yeah right. I have a 29G that only has 1 betta and then has canas, brigs, ramshorns, & MTS snails and I am having an algae problem in that tank and none of the others...Go figure

I love snails, don't get me wrong, It would be a great additon to the tank. I wasn't trying to bash you at all, I was just saying, don't expect it to be a big clean upper of the algae. Really I was just venting that I have to get the algae brush out for the first time in a year lol.

About the dwarf gourami I said I was moving mine from the 5 gallon to the 35 gallon not getting another one. But thanks for all the other suggestions.
