hey,

My cons have just had thier first large and thriving cloud of fry.The first time they breed the fry didn't last long cause the dad ate them. The fry have been in the tnak about a week to a week and a half. When is a good time to seperate them from the parents? The cons are in a 10gal but soon to be moved to a 20long once I find a new tanfor the current inhabitints. And how is a safe way to catch them and should I put then in a breeder with the paretns or in a seperate tank.

thanks.

how big are your convicts?

the reason the dad ate all the fry is that they are in too small of a tank. a 10g is enough for 1 small con but not a pair. the 20g may even be pushing it. but i would probably take out about half the fry and leave the parents to raise the other half, then you get to eatch the parents taking care of the fry and you also have some that cant get eaten.
