How many more fish? Stocking Q.

I have a 10g right now, it has 2 platys, a guppy, and 2 neons.

I want to add other fish, but I'm tired of platys, and dont want to get any hump-mates for the guppy.. lol.

Any opinions on what I should add? Preferrably to 'brighten' up my lil tank. I'd honestly try more neons, but they just keep dying! Those 2 are whats left from a batch of 6. :sad:

I would either take back the platys and guppy and add 4 more neons(nothing else) or take back the neons and get a few shrimp. Neons need groups which can not be done with other fish in such a small tank.
