Clown Kinfe w/ a Red Devil

I just went thur the species profiles and read that a Clown Knife's common suitable tank mate could be a Red Snakehead? If so, I'm moving it in W/ my Red Devil since it is a common suitable tankmate according to the profiles. That is,,, unless somebody has a different opinion from experiance.:)

Oscars love to eat knifefish, so your clown might be food for the RD. Or else, the electric charges from the clown might **** off your RD. Just speculating...but that's my 2 cents.

To house a full grown clown knife will require a tank wider then 24 inches and 8 ft. in length, Or about 450 gal. This will work untill the knife gets larger enough to consume the the devil hole. a friend has a pic of a 33 inch royal clown knife with the tail of a 12 inch jag protruding from his mouth.

Okay, two things, Baraka:

First, don't use all caps.

Second, you should read the thread title much more carefully if you want to criticize.

What he did was use a "transitive property": A works with B, and B works with C, so A must work with C. I could disprove that for fish in many, many ways, but it is a clever approach. Be careful, Baraka, because if you make a mistake, people will go after you like crazy now that you have been so rude with your correction.

Back to topic Clown Knives get to big and just to shear size are capable of eating almost any fish. Like RD GT RT Oscars Jags Buttikoferi's if given the chance and if big enough will eat any of the fish above. I never knew Clown knives had electric shock attacks my uncle had 2 big one in a 60gal and he never got shocked. Oh and on a litter note dont put it in with a RTC of the hunter will be the hunted. :D

Wow. A post from Baraka and a the famous pic of Mojo's RT cat eating the knife. It's just like a blast from the past. On another note, the devil will kill the knife and if he doesn't and the knife gets full grown he'll eat the devil. I wouldn't do it with a snakehead either. I'd go with the snakehead taking out the knife either way.

knife'd be lunch. just too docile to hang with a RD. thats my 2 cents. Anyways i dont put too much stock in the profiles as far as tankmate suggestments go. They are also a lil outdated. Still the best ones online i've ever found.

It would flip flop IME. The RD would tear the knife up at smaller sizes...until they got bigger. The RD would stop growing and the knife would keep on keepin on if you know what I mean. Later, the knife would eat him. Period.
