do guppy fry get sucked up by hang-on-back power filters?

i have a 10g tank with a pregnant female guppy, will her fry get sucked up by the power filter? i think the filters rated for 20g.

yes.
the newly born fry are not strong enough to swim against the current and will get sucked up into the filter

Yes.

Those things are tiny.

Sometimes you can get a sponge cover for the inlet. Also with some HOB filters you can adjust the flow. Set it to low if you can.

If you can't find a sponge filter that fits, a good temporary solution is to get some panyhose and a rubber band, and cover the inlet. It'll slow your water flow down a bit, but it'll keep the fry from getting sucked up or knocked all over the place.
