So a while back I took my 5 gallon acrilic tank and added some sand, water, and the appropriate ammount of salt. I bought a heater, which I have yet to put on. I got a free filter(whisper 10 HOB) that had a crack in it. I sealed the crack with silicon(aquarium safe, of course) and have been running it in the tank for a few weeks to make absolutly sure it is all the way sealed. Money has been tight so I havent been able to do anything with it, but figure it wont hurt to leave it running as is(again, just sand salt and water, nothing else)

Yesterday I noticed a white film on the inside of the tank(below water line). Ive never done a salt tank, so I dont know if its normal. From my FW experience, it looks like algae, only white instead of green. What is it, and if it is a type of SW algae, what is it feeding on since there is no fish or other food source? It wipes off really easy, and seems to disolve into the water.
