Hello Everyone,

I just got a 10g starter tank and I am so excited. I would like to get anyones opinion on what types of fish to put in my tank..... my tank is currently going through a fishless cycle

I have two ideas so far.....

I would like to have a tank that is full of fish, the most that I can have in a 10g fish tank...and also have a red claw crab and maybe a ghost shrimp too....so I am looking for ideas of what type of fish to put in the tank, that will make it look like I have alot of fish just swimming around doing there thang???? ANY SUGGESTIONS

Also another Idea I have is possible getting a fish by itself that eat feeder fish, I always found this exciting as a kid and I am wondering what type of fish could I get in my tank that also eats other fish, but will not get to big for a 10g tank....ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS WILL BE FINE TOO! THANKS

i would suggest a school of neons (maybe 6) and a couple of pygmy (sp?) cories. you're not going to find a fish that will eat feeders that will be small enough for your tank. maybe a snail, too, but i don't have exp with snails so i will let someone else suggest what kind of snail.

Thanks I like that set up. Neons are seeming to be the hottesh fish in town! Lets see what everyone else has in mind before i make my final decision

any fish that will eat feeders will get to large for a ten gallon.

if you want lots of activity, fet 6 neons, 4 zebra dainos, and then some ghost shrimp for the bottom of the tank

Wow, I like this set up too! What about the red claw crab, will they do good in a tank with all those fish?

Hi,

You could get four Pygmy Cories, one Dwarf Gourami, and two Cherry Barbs.

Or three Ottos, six Neon Tetras, and a Dwarf Gourami.

Zebra Danios are way too active for a 10 gallon tank.
