I have had a maroon clown for about 2 years now. He had an anemome about a year ago but it didnt make it partly because of begginer problems.

anyways, I have upgraded my tank to bigger, got mh lights and are pushing about 5 watts per gallon for lighting. I have a bubble coral and a Finger coral. The clown tried hosting with the bubble, but probably too small and now is bothering the finger coral which is about 5" tall by 6" wide. Anyways its driving the coral nuts and is sucking in all the time. I probably should get an anenome for the clown as he loved his old one. I was wondering is there something sexual that the clowns loving having tentacles around them and such. He is so funny.

Any suggestions on a anenome that I should get. Last time I had a sabae but do to my error it died. My tank is much more mature and ready this time for one.

Ideas would be appreciated.

thanks

Bulb Tipped are the maroons favorite and they are one of the more hardy.

Okay, just asking about tank size because sebaes get so big.

At 4.2 wpg, your lighting is still a little weak for anemones. However, that's not to say it can't be done. Before I upgraded to MH this week (woo hoo!), I kept a 16" sebae under 4x96 PC for a year, and the previous owner kept it under the same lighting for about four years.

no problem. I have live rock structures that hopefully would go to the light. Plus I have plenty of room to add more.

A question, when you have a 110 gallon tank and have 4-5" of sand and lots of live rock you really have less water gallons so wouldnt that be the real watts per gallon?? Just wondering same with heat and so forth, since you really dont have a full 110 gallons of water. Plus the height of the tank is less because of sand on bottom.

Thanks for the info though.

I would agree on the weak lighting, you actually have the exact same lighting I have on my 55g.
