I might make that 29 gallon a gourami tank... I know, I've been thinking about plans for that tank so much. My question is, whatare some gouramis that can be found regularly at my lfs?

Some of the Gouramis that you'll see often at most pet stores would be: Dwarf Gouramis, Three-Spot Gouramis (Blue Gouramis), Pearl Gouramis, and Moolight Gouramis.

The only gouramis I ever see are gold, blue, and kissing gouramis... but I've never really looked for gouramis so...
Someone told me blue gouramis r really aggressive! Are they? Are they more/less aggressive as gold gouramis? Answer that... it wasn't rhetorical.

blue gouramis are the same as gold gouramis. they are the same species but a different color morph.
yes they are aggressive as people say. IME, they will kill everything in the tank that is smaller than they are, and they will challenge fish that are as big as they are or even a little bigger.

Nearly all stores will carry the basic blues and golds.
Most stores will carry Dwarfs.
You may also be able to find kissing gouramis, but keep in mind that these eventually get around 10"

My LFS carries a Fire Dwarf which is a fade out fire red color. Its really neat looking. I originally bought a blue, neon, and fire and the only one that lived was the neon. I just transferred him to the new tank.
most commen over here is the moonlight guarami, often just labled, Silver gourami or just "gourami"
I've seen Blue, gold, platinum, dwarf, giant, kissing, honey, pearl gouramis and actually owned all of those types.
My blue gouramis get into little tiffs, but otherwise are fine, ive seen the gold ones as the most aggressive. If you are going with the gold or platinum species stay away from the dwarf or honey, cause i have seen the gold and platinum kill the small ones.
