Hey folks,
I need some help with sump/fuge. I borrowed a design from another site and had a local plastic company make me a sump. They did an awesome job but as I look at it I am wondering if I made a mistake. Can anyone help? The sump is 36"Lx15"Wx16"Tall. The 1st chamber(intake and skimmer) is 11"x15", then 1st baffle of bubble trap is 12" tall, then 1" space and next baffle which is raised of the bottom 1" and also is 12" tall, then 1" space and next baffle is 12" tall, then the next chamber(fuge) is 11 1/2"x15", then 12"tall baffle with 1"deep teeth cut along top, then 3rd chamber(return) is 10"x15". I am wondering if my baffles are too tall? If so, can I dremel out the material at the proper height? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Mike

It's hard to say for sure if they are too tall. A lot of it depends on how much water will drain back into the sump during a power outage / when you turn your return pump off. Another possible factor is the height of your skimmer output. Some skimmers don't work well if the output pipe is under water.
