Well it has been several years since I have tinkered with the aquariums. I have several questions. This is my current setup. 75 gallon freshwater. ugf with 2 eheim aquaballs, 2 eheim wet/dry pro2227, 1 whisper 60. I was just wondering since the 2227 are around 4-5 years old - should I replace them with newer eheims? I can't seem to find a local/net source for parts and stuff. I am paranoid, I am looking for a rebuild kit basically; impeller/shaft, orings, float/dampner.. There is nothing wrong with them, just would like to have the parts or be able to get them. Also concidering using a pump with an internal heater. What do you all think about the internal heater/eheim. What's the best place to get eheim stuff and where are the best deals on aquarium supplies around here.

I am also looking to setup a saltwater tank. any good starters/ideas? I am thinking a 125. I want the tank to be totally quiet.

Thanks for your time.

Eheim still offers parts for even some of their oldest models. Try bigalsonline.com for the parts you mentioned. Drsfosterandsmith.com also carries some of the Eheim parts. There is eheimparts.com for the impellor/shaft pieces as well. I've come across folks with old 15+ years Eheim canisters, so I say if it ain't broke, don't replace it!

Best prices online is ussually www.petsmart.com You can also print out the page and bring it into the store for a price match so you will save on shiping. Bigals should have all the parts you need if not try www.thatfishplace.com Also Your ehiems should be just fine that is not very old for a filter.
