WHITBY, ONTARIO CANADA!
Hey guys so it has been goin pretty good with my planted tank in the last while! and i have not had to ask any questions, until now. So I have alot of river rocks in my tank and i got alot of "brown algae" or as i know now diatoms, and then i got some green algae, but now small groupings of black "algae" i guess i could call it that have shown up. I am goin to be cleaning it off tomorrow but thought i should take some pics and ask some questions before i did.

What is it...?

thanks

It could be a type of BBA, there is a form that grows very short and hard like a black scum. The pic is too blurry to tell.

Hi,

I have a weird algae too. It grows on this one piece of bogwood and is brown and long.

If I have algae problems, I just bleach whatever the algae is growing on (except bogwood) and the bleach works great.
