Ok awkward situation. I was working with a guy that was getting ready to move. He was getting his tank out and busted it.

He had a clownfish and a koran angel he was just going to flush them. I was able to save 50pds of live sand, 30gallons of the water and about 100pds of rock. just for the time being to save all the rock i put it in one of my 55 gallons. (he had this in a 60 gallon) with all the water i had but one 10 gallon bucket that i currently have a heater / two 1" airstones and one live rock in. I am worried they wont last there long, but the LFS said they should be ok overnight.

So anyway i have the tank setup with two HOB's. It is less than 40% full and i need to add water, but im not sure how.

Tomorrow afternoon i have a meeting with my lfs to get a 180 setup for these fish but what hopes do you think i have in keeping them alive for now?

Also the biggest concern is the salitity is 1.04, and i dont have any instant ocean the best that i have is aquarium salt.. Any ideas?

Thanks

I just found a small bag of instant ocean to stabilize the big tank, but what can i do on the two fish i have now?

Well I went ahead and setup a 55 gallon with the live rock, and the sand. I put in the 30 gallons of water and let that run throught he filters for a few hours then treated it as a normal water change. The PH KH NO3, all came back the great. I added more water after i found the ocean salt added 20 gallons of water which equated to a 25% change more or less. I let all that run throught for several more hours and it still tested out fine. I went ahead and added the two fish into it with the rock and sand. Its getting filtered but several aquaclear 70's maintaining a 78degree water temp. The fish after an hour are doing well they acted stresses for the first 45 minutes and are swimming the tank. Thier breathing rate has dropped dramatically from before. I hope i did the right thing, we will see in the morning..

well after 12 hrs in the tank the two fish are still looking good. PH is 7.5, Saility is 1.023/22. They are eating fine, and the angel is finding some nice hiding spots.

Here is a picture of the setup. The koran was going to be flushed because the owner thought it had hole in the head disease. I didnt think they could get that. After further inspecting I think its just lack of color to his over user of carbon in the tank.

Thoughts?

Almost any fish can get "holes" in the head. It is not a disease at all, but it is a result of dietary deficiencies/ inadequencies.
