protein skimmer

ok i am setting up my marine tank soon and due to the tanks location i cant hang the skimmer on the back and as i have 2 spare external filters i wont be using a sump.
the skimmer needs to go under the tank so what are my options.
 
I have seen in-line skimmers, not sure how they work though. There is also one from Tunzi that actually sits in the tank. The cup is above the water but still in the tank.
