I saw a few peacock eels today at my LFS and I want one. My questions are:
1. Will they be okay with mollies, platies, and cories?
2. Will they at least POSSIBLY fit in a thirty gallon?
3. How big do they get? Some people say ten inches, some people say 15 inches. What is the size?

Oh, and I just wanted to say that I found interesting fish at my LFS today also. Many different types of freshwater eels for a great price and they never carry eels. I also found angelfish 3'' long and 4 1/2 in. tall for 6$ and they were in good condition. I found 6'' plecos for 10$ and botia loaches (they rarely carry those where I live.) I also found other weird fish there...

Well, thanks for helping!

I'm not to much of an expert when it comes to eels, but this website should give you some info on them as well as compatibility

Do you know the species name of what you want? "Peacock" is used for several types.

Some stay quite small. Zig-zags, for example, only get to about 6", and I would be OK with keeping one in a 30.

How big are the platys and cories?
