#1. how many rasboras can I add now that my bettas gone?

#2.I FINALLY got a test kit today. Now I can stop being a hippocrite every time I say how important one is. when I tested my water on all 3 tanks (including my toads pauli) all showed nitrates below 5 pmm. is this due to the fact that they are all full of plants? nothing to worry about, right? also, the pH is 7.0 in my 10G while in the other 2 it's 7.8. is this because I let plant matter sit and decay in my 10G?

tisk tisk fc22, these are questions you should know. lol

rasboras are schooling fish. you intend to put some in a 5 gallon tank.
dont.

why were you letting plants decay?
it is likely, that this is why your pH dropped.

I meant adding more to my 10G. I only have four, and now that my bettas gone, I have room for more. I just want to know how many IYO I can add.

because my pleco eats them, they make it look more natural, increase my bacteria load, and make food for my living plants.

isnt the pleco taking up most of your bioload?

also, why is this in GCC?

Hi,

I know most people don't like this rule because it doesn't give the fish enough space, but if you go by the 'one inch per gallon rule' you have 12 inches in your tank. So with that being said I think your tank is full.

Happy fish keeping!

Inch per gallon understocks quite considerably with small fish like rasboras.

Add 4 harlequins. (in fact you could go for 6 - as your nitrates are so low this won't be a problem, and swimspace isn't really an issue.). the low pH is probably from decaying plant matter, and isn't a problem as your nitrates are so low - but do monitor the pH in case it crashes. If you use CO2, it will also lower your pH.

I thought as much. I also have very little surface disturbance and floating plants, so between them the CO2 in my tank is most likely pretty high.

keep an eye on your nitrates ..low nitrates in a planted tank may not be a good thing.

if it drops too low the algae will get an upperhand..as many can extract nitrogen from air.
