I just moved my fish into a new 55-gal tank and need suggestions for what kinds of fish will do well with them. I have artifical plants and 3 pieces of artifical driftwood with a small cave in each. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The more colorful the better! :)

Should I stick with semi-aggressive fish since I have the Tiger Barbs? If so, where can I get a list of all semi-aggressive tropical fish?

how bout more zebras... they like being in a bigger group

get more danios. about 6-7 more. then get swift or tough community bottom dwelling tankmates that can hold their own with the tiger barbs, like most plecos and larger cories.

I will definitely add more Zebras. Would 2-4 black angelfish (since they are classified as semi-aggressive) live happily with the Tiger Barbs?

no. the barbs will pick at their long fins, and angels are not fast enough to escape their badgering. my advice is don't trust those aggression listings and get durable community fish. I reccomend pleco species that don't grow over a foot, large cories, or khuli loaches. make sure to have plenty of hiding spots.

A gourami of some kind could hold his own in that set-up. Just don't get a tiny one like the honeys...

Kuhli loaches will be good community members if you have the right substrate and enough hiding spaces. They like to be in groups of six of more though. They are bottom feeders that will not require much feeding and grow about 3 inches long. They are also freshwater and are suitable in a tank 5gallons+.they are nocturnal so they don't come out often, get a dim enough light so both the kuhli's and your other fish.
