I'm thinking of getting this for my 75g planted aquarium from Aquariumplants.com:

http://www.aquariumplants.com/product_p/pr4026.htm

Can I do better than this for the money or should I get this one? I'm not a techie, so ease of installation and use is important.

Thanks!

The above has lots of things you don't necessarly need like the pH controller. But overall it's not a bad package for what you get. And you'll still need to purchase a CO2 cylinder somewhere locally.

I always say keep thing simple and cheap.

1. Azoo Regulator - drsfostersmith.com ~ $90
2. Glass Diffuser (maybe a Rhinox 5000 for your tank) - aqmagic.com ~ $25
3. 10lb CO2 cylinder - found locally ~ $70-90

Total Cost: around $170 - $200

that seems pricey. i been able to get 2 co2 set ups for 100 bux each. i know everywhere is different but still. i also went with a 10 lbs co2 tank. it was just a little more and i had the space.

I'd highly recommend the aquariumplants.com regulator. I've used a couple of them in the past and it is by far the best I've used. If you don't want the whole kit you can always just buy the regulator and reactor from them and pick up a timer from your local hardware store. The ph controller is a nice safty net but its not necessary as long as you monitor your ph regularly (I recommend using a ph pen) and use a quality regulator w/ needle valve (such as the aquariumplants.com regulator).

I hope this advice helps and you can avoid the same mistakes I made in the beginning.

that tlink up top is a fully automatic system... you dont have to turn it down at night when ph drops...

but you really just need to understand the basics of how co2 works....

the bottle -->reactor-->your tank

and obviousely the bette your reactor the better use of your co2

one i found on ebay that was local and was able to pick up. full 5lbs co2 with regulator Solenoid Valve and needle nose valve for $100. the other i found here in the classifieds 10lbs co2 tank with regulator Solenoid Valve needle nose valve bubble counter for $100.

as i said everywhere is different. you might be able to find it cheaper for more.
