Well, in my previous post i told you guys all my cichlids died in a tragic water changing accident. It's hard, but I must move on.

Here is my situation, my girlfriends daughter wants a goldfish, so i was thinking about giving her my 3g. In doing that, i would move my beta to my 10g, and move the guppies and neons to my 46g.

So with that said, I figure with a 46g tank could hold alot of small fish, and in turn i'd get a hell of a tank.

So help me out, what fish should i put in there. I would like it to be a somewhat active tank.

Current Setup
Black gravel, rocks, and live java ferns.

Current Inhabitants
1 pleco

Inhabitants to be added
3x Tequila Sunrise Guppies (1m, 2f)
4x Neon Tetras

What should I add?

goldfish dont go in 3G they need 30G fancy species, non you need more plus heavy filtration

Ok.... 3g is out for the goldfish. So, i guess ill keep it as a hosp/quar tank if need be.

Anyway, point taken. Thanks for the heads up.

Now how about the restock?

Hi,

I've said this stocking suggestion before, but I think it looks great. For your 46 gallon you could get 20 Cardinals, 10 Panda Cories, and a pair of Rams. I just think that would look so cool.

If you still plan on adding the Neons to the 46g, then up the school. They'd be much happier. You could bump the number up to 8-10 and then add another school of fish. For a centerpiece you could add some type of Gourami. Pearls are beautiful, but any gourami that doesn't get more than 5 inches would work. How about adding some cories or loaches for the bottom.

Or you could go with the guppies and neons (add more) and do a South American theme tank with another school of tetras, cories, the pleco (hopefully its not a common), and some Rams or Apistos. It would be awesome...especially planted. :)

Bleeding heart tetra's are quite pretty and tend to be active, bloodfin tetra's are also nice. I would definately do a shool of 6-8 panda or jullie cories in there. Maybe a Dawrf gouramii or a betta as a center peice. There are also some nice new color morphs on mollies. I have three "yellow chromide mollies" in my brackish tank and they are very beautiful fish orange to yellow dorsal side with a white ventral side. They tend to be lyraeal (sp) tail too and can color up a tank nicely. Im sure you will find pleanty of tetra and barb species at the LFS. I love zebra daino's to. There always humming around the top of the tank every active.

46g.. id go with a pair of tinfoil barbs... But thats just me

I'd do 3 clown loaches, half dozen bumblebee gobies, and a bunch of filler fish for the mid-top swim areas like neons or cardinals.
