canister or wet/dry filter???

for a fish-only SW aquarium, is it better to get a canister filter or a wet/dry filter? also, what brands are good for both canister and wet/dry filters?

I would actually get some powerheads. The live rock and/or sand that is strongly recommended for a SW tank will cover the bio-filtration and a mechanical filter will get chocked full of stuff so often it'd be a huge pain to clean. Carbon would just remove needed trace elements in your tank. Plus the powerheads are cheaper. If you have to use a filter, I'd recommend anything with a high flow rate and just run it without any media.
