I've been lurking on this forum for quite some time. Thought I'd share my tank. It's been up for almost 2 years.

1x angel
6x albino and regular striped danios (mixed)
1x oto cat
2x catfish of sorts
4x blackskirt tetras
2x cherry barb

Will add more fish after the transfer.

Where did you get that stone house? I love it! :girl:
I made it myself. I bought aluminum rain gutters, cut out the shape I wanted, and used aquarium sealant to "glue" the pieces of the gutter together. I then "glued" each pebble you see onto it. Took about 4 hours of work, but really adds dimension to the tank.

I have been looking, and looking, and looking for something special for my 55 gallon tank. That stone house is the coolest looking thing that I've ever seen! What did you do to the edges of the gutter so that the fish don't cut themselves up??? What kind of stones did you use? How long has it been in your tank? I have the next week off of work - I think I may have to try making one of those :girl:

I actually used sleeves of the gutter down spout. They're about 2" wide x 4" deep. I just basically skinned the back of the gutters off, so that the back is open, and used those skins to cover the openings in the top of the gutter. Before I did that, I cut out a pattern so that it didn't look like a square. I used most of the gutters width wise, with one flipped so that it protrudes out more than the others. I then used a dremel to cut out the holes so that the fish can swim in and out. I used aquarium sealer to glue all the gutters together. I used the sealer to attach the rock too. The rock I used was 1/2" aquarium gravel. Took about 1.5 bags worth.

I've had this cave in my aquarium for almost 2 years. No ill side effects. I wish I could better describe how I did it. If anyone has any particular questions, feel free to post and I'll answer as well as I can.

Thanks for the info. I'll get my husband to help with things like what a dremel is!? And what a sleeve of a gutter down spout is. Maybe I could get into the business of making them and retire. hahaha
